After our first successful Surf ‘N’ Yoga weekend at the start of August, we’ve decided to host another in September!
Jen from Shine yoga is a fantastic yoga instructor (and incredibly eye wateringly bendy!!) and I’m stoked that she’ll be able to run some classes for our surfers once again in the coming weeks.
Yoga is beneficial for your surfing in so many ways, and I love the way it helps with so many aspects of surfing. Everything from concentration, relaxation, body/muscular control and most importantly it’s a bit of a giggle….especially with a group of friends.
Normally confined to the studio, we’re taking yoga outdoors to the beach and cliff top! Our scenery here at Watergate Bay is so stunning and our sea air so fresh and clean there is really something special about practicing in the great outdoors.
Jen runs Shine Yoga (check out her facebook page) and regular classes in/around the Newquay area. She’s also just started running SUP Yoga classes if you’re up for trying something new!!
I’ll be coaching the surfing classes over this weekend, along with my fellow female coaches here at The O’Neill Surf Academy. Surf school isn’t just for beginners, and coaching can go an incredibly long way in helping you progress and improve quickly. Surfing is hard…..and take time. If it’s your very first time on a board the skills and knowledge you’ll gain from a lesson will prove invaluable as your surfing progresses, and for our more advanced surfers a bit of coaching to iron out all those little niggles will see you ripping in no time at all. WIth September well renowned as the best swell season here in Cornwall, there’s no better time to get yourself ready for the best waves of the year this Autumn!!!
