I had a great time this year running a couple of Surf ‘N’ Yoga weekends at my Surf Academy at Watergate Bay. I had lots of girls from all over the UK come and join me for a fun weekend of surfing and beachy yoga…..a combination of activities that really compliment each other!
I will confess that I do not do enough yoga – I love a really good yoga class and how refreshed and revitalised it leaves you, not to mention how good it is for improving all the skills so relevant to surfing. Living in such stunning place on the cornish coast I am unfortunately a little isolated, and attending a class is an hour and a half round trip. With the nights drawing in now I am certainly going to get myself into gear and try to get to classes a little more regularly, and it should keep my surfing in tip top form over the coming months.
Right now I’m having a blast planning my Surf ‘N’ Yoga weekends, and as this year was the first time I have run such classes next year is going to be bigger and better than ever.
For me, the best bit about these weekends is the wonderful people for all walks of life that attend. Everyone is so friendly and fun and with groups of friends, couples, and individual fun seekers coming along we end up with an amazing group of people with similar interests. I have certainly made some great friends during these weekends and can’t wait to meet even more rad people next year.
